Mohan studies the role of DGAT1 and DGAT2-mediated triglyceride synthesis in protecting cells from lipid-induced ER stress. To investigate this process, Mohan uses cell-based and in vitro assays, and DGAT1 and DGAT2 tissue-specific knockout mouse models. He completed his Ph.D in 2012 from the University of Graz in Austria. In 2013, Mohan joined the laboratory of Dr. Robert Farese, Jr. at the Gladstone Institutes and the University of California in San Francisco. Mohan is supported by an American Diabetes Association postdoctoral fellowship. At Harvard since 2014, his scientific interests include: lipid synthesis, lipolysis, ER stress, lipotoxicity and lipid droplet biology. Mohan likes spending time with family and following cricket.
